As partners with the American Institute for Aeronautics and Astronautics , we were excited to learn that newly appointed NASA Deputy Administrator Pam Melroy is an AIAA member recognized for her work in Aeronautics and Astronautics.
As a female astronaut who commanded the

From Dan Dumbacher Executive Director, AIAA

It was exciting to witness the transition of the leadership team at NASA
in recent weeks. Former Senator Bill Nelson was sworn in as the 14th NASA Administrator and joined by AIAA Associate Fellow Pam Melroy as NASA Deputy Administrator.

Pam is an influential leader and has been an active AIAA member, receiving recognition from her peers with the AIAA Public Service Award in 2019 for her outstanding contributions to the fields of aeronautics and astronautics.

NASA and the aerospace community will benefit from their combined experience and extensive backgrounds championing our nation’s space and aeronautics programs. They will make a great team at this critical stage in the development of the space economy and the further exploration of the universe.

AIAA looks forward to supporting them in their new roles.   Congratulations!
Pam Melroy is ceremonially sworn-in as the 15th NASA Deputy Administrator by NASA Administrator Bill Nelson , as her husband Doug Hollett , holds their family Bible, Monday, June 21, 2021, at the Mary W.
